The NBC Watershed Explorers test water from their respective watersheds three times during the year. The first is during their fall field trip to their watershed in October or November, the second is in-class in January and the third is a biological test of their watershed through the observation of macro invertebrate life in April or May.

NBC staff will post this data as it becomes available. Please use the drop-down menu above to view the most recent findings.

Interesting Info: The NBC Watershed Explorers Program was fully virtual during COVID. We still tested the water, however, and the coolest results happened!! The Woonasquatucket River Watershed at Riverside Park in Providence tested negative for a type of bacteria called fecal coliform, for the first time in almost 15 years of testing there. We even returned to do a few more tests to make sure the results were correct and those tests were negative too. This is an excellent sign of improving water quality in the Woonasquatucket River.
