Good Morning Watershed Explorers,
Sunday is Mother's Day, just in case you needed a reminder, wink, wink! Please be sure to thank your mom (or that extra special person who is like your mom) for all that she/he does to make sure that you are healthy, happy, and safe! Many of these special moms may also be doubling as your teachers right now too, so make sure that they know just how much their help means to you.
In honor of Mother's Day, the National Wildlife Federation's, May edition of its Ranger Rick magazine had a few pages on great animal moms. Here are just a few of the neat stories for you to enjoy.
No matter what animal species is being discussed, moms are critical to offspring survival, even those that don't stick around to care for their young.
Please be sure to thank those special moms in your life for all that they do to care for you. I want to personally thank all of the Watershed Explorer moms who have been providing support by forwarding stories, pictures, and projects of their kiddos. It's been wonderful having correspondence with some of you and sharing proud moments of the work that your explorers are completing.
Thank you to Watershed Explorer Nyree for continuing to send great photos of her exploration. Here she is with a salamander!
Keep up the amazing exploration my friend. It's wonderful to see you outside with nature.
I hope that you will all get outside today to explore, and please continue to send your stories, projects, and critter finds so that they can be shared with the whole Watershed Explorer family.
Much love,
Mrs. Morissette
