Good Morning Watershed Explorers,
Here is a really fun activity that you can do with just a little bit of snow. I call it snowcano!
Here's what you will need:
2 spoonfuls of baking soda
1 spoonful of dish soap
a few drops of food color
30 ml of vinegar
snow
small container
A small container of any size will work for this activity. In the container place your baking soda, dish soap, and food coloring. Create a small snow tower and place your container on the top. Now you can build up the sides to make it look like a volcano. Once you have your volcano built with your cup at the top, pour in the vinegar and watch the reaction take place. It happens a little slower than just a vinegar and baking soda volcano because of the dish soap, but be patient. Eventually your volcano will look like it is spilling out lava!
Here is a picture of the snowcano my girls and I built yesterday. This is a great activity to get you outside and enjoying the snow.
Have fun and send me pictures if you try it!
Happy Exploring,
Mrs. Morissette
