A is for Awesome April

Good Morning Watershed Explorers,

In place of this week's critter spotlight, I wanted to highlight some exciting events taking place this month. I also have some fantastic critter photos to share with you at the end.

This is such an exciting month. It's Earth month! Earth Day was started in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson. It's now celebrated every year on April 22. The Earth is our home. It provides us with everything that we need for life. The least we can do is give it a month-long celebration. There are many great websites that you can check out to find out how to celebrate Earth Month. Here are just a few:

If you do any activities for Earth month, I would love to hear about them and share them on the blog. Please send your photos and stories to cmorissette@narrabay.com

April is also awesome because it is the birth month of Dr. Jane Goodall. Dr. Goodall turned 87 Saturday, April 3. She is a leading advocate for hope, and the safe and fair treatment of animals on Earth. Dr. Jane devotes most of her year speaking about the remarkable people who work tirelessly each day to ensure that animals and people have a safe and healthy Earth to live on. Here are some ways to catch up with Dr. Jane.

As promised, here are some photographs of the critters that my kiddos and I have been finding on our adventures. I hope that you too will get out to explore and share some of your finds with us.

Happy Earth Month Watershed Explorers and Happy Birthday Dr. Jane! Let's celebrate!

Much love,

Mrs. Morissette
